MY CHALLENGE- II Chron 15:3 "...Israel had been without he true God, without a teaching Priest, and without law." v.4 --when they in their trouble did turn unto the Lord God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them." v.12 they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord God of their fathers-with all their heart and with all their soul.

VERSES THAT CHANGED MY MIND AS I GREW OLDER - AND BECAME AN EX PASTOR * EMERITUS - RETIRED?

At first I felt strongly if I failed to tell you about John 3:16, and Join 20:31 - I would have cheated you out of eternal heaven. Then I realized if I failed to teach Mal 3:10
and I Cor 16:2 I would cheat you out of heaven on Earth- God's way to prosperity.

But when a man goes on Social Security from a pastor's income from 1946 - 1990 he wonders what the retired Levites and Priests did. Still Matt. 6:33 - Seek first Kingdom of God- and all these things will be added unto you! Means food and clothing and a home! & Psa 37:25-

For years I taught l0% tithing-then a Jewish testimony before congress as IRS laws were passed opened my eyes to 15%. The 1st 10% went to the temple (Church) budget but then 1 & 2/3 % called the First Fruits - Deut 26:2 was the Priests'. Then a 3rd year tithe -=3 1/3 % was to be kept at home and given to Levites, strangers in need (Tobit 1 says for the Mother-in-law) and this would cover the Deacon's loving care fund, Pot Luck dinners, ?- but I liked best Deut 14:28-, Numbers 15:21-, & Ezek 44:30 the 1st of your dough for visiting, retired, etc. Levites. Does that cover old senile Baptist Preachers? Well- WE ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW- but Should Christians do less?

So years ago I taught in WHBC that the Tithe belonged to the local church, and the extra 5% was given to the Communion Offering, visiting missionaries and evangelists, and poor old preachers, and even pastors of small churches when they had a special need. Our designated offerings helped with Accidents, births of babies, films, generators for Africa, a Mexican Nurse in a hospital (even providing for her funeral), and starting new churches, & even a few cars & station wagons- all got a blessing from extra gifts through our church.

My family account since Lorna's accident in 64 has been kept separate from my "Ministry" account and people have been generous in sending through it help for Bible School Students, other Pastors to go to Prescott Pines camp, and sending kids on Missionary short trips. When something extra large was involved- I always whispered it to the Chairman of our Deacons and Trustees, and it all has been reported on the Monthly-Ministry Account Darby posted on the Bulletin Board. (But not the Mink stole and new dress my wife wore to our National Convention one year-the Mink LOANED by a church member, & the dress-had gone to the National Presidential. Convention on another lovely lady) And did we have fun!

Now you see how I can trust the Lord enough to sign a 30 Year Mortgage to save my Daughter's home in Klamath Falls -Now like the Apostle Peter I've a summer home. Hah!: So would you continue to pray for a couple ready to celebrate their 57th Anniversary and now Social Security pays for our living expenses, & the Church's retirement pays for our IRS Non-taxable housing & transportation costs. The Government TAKES our S.S. funds from you (and thanks for almost $100,000.00 medical expenses for heart, eyes and brain stuff for Donna and I), but your kindness in our pension from the church and special offerings to the MAD fund keeps us in the Ministry at Large.

I can finally outrun the Chairman of the Deacons (he now has a cane), and Trustees Chairman can still sign may MAD account (but he's forgotten the Pin), and I and Phil Dickey still file our Ministry Accounts annually to the church. The years I spent as Chairman of the Board of our CB Foundation, the ABC Bookstore, as Deputy County Assessor and night manager of a Hotel taught me to provide things honest in the sight of man & God, even though I hope the 6-1/2 Mil $$ mortgage I signed for a certain Paradise Valley Retirement Center has been paid off by now. So we still use our "Gifts" to serve the Lord.

Soon Donna & I will echo the words of British Lt.Co. Tim Collins -" Our Business is
now NORTH: - but not to conquer but to liberate" So to clean "my" back yard in K,Falls, dinner with the Saemenes, & work in a "Darbyite" summer camp near Portland, and like a traveling Levite- to eat from several tables, and get the 1st of their dough.

We are confident the Lord will supply all our needs through our Lord Jesus Christ and His loving people. True I want to go to Northern Iraq-but my Wife cc the Lord disagree. We covet your prayers as we pray for you - & w pledge to pray for you- and will thrill to help you gain the Goals He gives you. Who's kid's next to the Mission Field??

Phil 1:3-7
