INTRODUCTION - THE WORLD IS RUNNING AMUCK, BUT YOU CAN SAVE YOURSELF FROM THIS GENERATION OF CONFUSION

• Peter delivered God's message- God knew that Jerusalem would be destroyed -that generation
• In the utter confusion of Today, our Society faces a similar fate, Bible Prophecy happening
• This message cries out to you as an individual to do something

To miss the message of Peter at Pentecost is to miss the only way God deals with man!

I. SAVE YOURSELF FROM THIS UNTOWARD GENERATION - v2:40

Political and religious intrigue, violence & corruption-answer

A. "SAVE YOURSELF" SHOWS EACH PERSON HIS OWN PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

1. We talk a lot about helping others, but you are the only soul that can really help YOU!
2. Jer 31:30; Deut 24:16; Ezek 33 all show that a man is personally responsible for his own sin
3. When you stand before God, you will be judged or justified according to your own actions!

B.  IT IS GOD THAT "SAVES", BUT YOU MUST AVAIL YOURSELF OF THAT SALVATION THAT IS FULL & FREE

1. You cannot save yourself, it is Jesus that saves- but YOU must choose to come to him-or not!
2. God gave the early audience of Peter the Proof of His voice in Resurrection- & Holy Spirit
3. They were so convicted that they a sked- What shall we do- v.37 - Only We! can do it for Us

C.  WE NEED TO BE SAVED FROM THIS "UNTOWARD GENERATION" TOO, FOR OURS IS AS THEIRS

1. Untoward means crooked, perverse, going wrong direction, leading to self destruction
2. To understand the Bible you have to look at what is happening around you- This World!
3. This- like that age, will be the last as we know it!  Rotten & Confused to the core! -why?

While many preach that you are victims of environment- I say YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for you

II.  "SAVE YOURSELVES" FROM THE DESTINY OF THIS GENERATION - HELL ITSELF

II Pet 3:9,10 God is longsuffering- but this world has had it- evidences on every hand!

A.   IF YOU WILL BE SAVED, YOU MUST PERSONALLY CLAIM JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR OWN SAVIOUR!

1. Evangelism is never "mass",- it is always very personal, no one can be saved for you!
2. You have already sinned enough to condemn yourself to Hell- But Christ died for you!
3. Unless you turn to Jesus- let Him reform your life- You are part of the cause of Corrupting

B.  EVERY SALVATION PASSAGE EMPHASIZES THE NEED OF AN INDIVIDUAL TAKING A PERSONAL STEP OF FAITH

1. Rom 10:9- who can confess with your mouth? who can believe in your heart? Only You-
2. John 3:14,16 Who can lift up your eyes to the Serpent- who can believe for you?
3. Matt 10:32, Who can confess, so personal and direct an act, that only YOU can do it!

C.  HEB 2:3 ASKS "HOW SHALL WE ESCAPE IF WE NEGLECT SO GREAT SALVATION?", only WE haven't!  Have YOU?

1. This generation of foolishness has its own punishment-how can you escape it? Bible says!
2. But John 5:29 speaks of a resurrection unto damnation-after this life- A HELL THERE TOO!
3. I Cor 13:5 asks us to examine ourselves if we be of the faith- No one can do it for You!

The destiny of this generation is hell now, & hell hereafter- but for you?  You decide!

III.  "SAVE YOURSELVES" FROM THE POWER AND DESPAIR OF THIS GENERATION, DEFEAT - DISCOURAGEMENT

We have slavery & Conquest now - but I John 5:4-"overcoming the world" - God expects victory

A.  IF YOU WILL BE SAVED FROM THE POWER OF THIS AGE, YOU MUST CLAIM JESUS AS LORD OF YOUR LIFE!

1. Paul pled for an absolute dedication to the Lord- Rom 12:1,2- and this is only road -victory
2. He also commanded the victory over sin- Rom 13:14- put on Jesus - not Lust
3. He commanded a strong stewardship in helping others- Rom 15:1- make sure-spiritual

B.  YOU MUST APPLY YOURSELF IF YOU WANT THE BLESSINGS OF CHRISTIAN LIFE IN YOUR SOUL RIGHT NOW!

1. Some say "Just Abide" But you can't do it without personal preparation in Devotional acts
2. Some say" You can't do anything"-but practical Stewardship brings blessing- in work & giving
3. God causeth us to triumph- 2 Cor 2:14- but a gladiator must get into the arena & fight!

C.   NO ONE CAN "WIN CHRIST" FOR YOU, OR "RUN THE RACE" FOR YOU, OR CAUSE YOU TO FAIL, BUT YOU!

1. People get mad at Church, pastor, spite, anger, pout, but won't stand up in His Court!
2. If God is concerned about the falling of a sparrow, he is concerned about your victory-peace
3. You can have the "We are sufficient" - 2 Cor 3:17 - if you use the Word of God right!

CONCLUSION - WHAT IS YOUR BIG PROBLEM, WHAT IS YOUR NEED FOR REVIVAL, SPIRITUAL GROWTH? - FACE IT NOW!

1. Peter said- "Repent & Be Baptized in the name of Jesus" have you done this?
2. They that gladly received His word did- & 3,000 added to Church- are you a part of Church?
3. Prophets -self appointed or not-? have given us a short time till flood like Nineveh! Will you be ready? - or will the Lord give you a salvation-?

God led the Christians out of Jerusalem-
