IN THE LIGHT OF THE COMING JUDGEMENT, WHEN EVEN THE RIGHTEOUS WILL BARELY BE SAVED - CAUTION

1. Peter looked forward to the terrible tribulation-all Jewish people especially. believers
2. He was trying to get people to seek God's Will- so that their suffering not be in vain
3. He had reason to urge people to seek and do the Will of God- Are you interested?

I.- PETER WAS OBSESSED WITH "THE WILL OF GOD"

A.- THERE WAS A TIME WHEN PETER HAD STUBBORNLY ASSERTED HIS OWN WILL, AND SUFFERED FOR IT

1. Peter urged Jesus not to go to Jerusalem- Matt 16:22 & Lord rebuked him
2. Peter after the last Supper assured Christ that He would not deny him- Matt 26:33,4
3. But when the Cock crew-thrice-was the number Peter had denied his Lord!

B.- IN THE EPISTLES FROM PETER, THE EXPRESSION "THE WILL OF GOD" HAS STRONG SWAY

1. 2:15- Peter urged us to submit to God's Will in obedience to law & silence gossipers
2. 3:17- If God wills that we suffer- let's make sure it is not as an evildoer-but good
3. 4:2 - we should not live in the "will of the Gentiles"- but in the Will of God!
4. 4:19- Those who suffer in God's will should commit themselves to the Lord-to keep souls
5. II Peter 3:9- God is not willing that any should perish-but all be saved.

C.- SO HOW DO WE KNOW THE WILL OF GOD FOR OUR LIVES? IT IS FAIRLY PLAIN THAT SOME CAN BE KNOWN

1. We might not know whether or not God's will includes martyrdom for us- but good we don't
2. We do know that we are Not TO SUFFER AS AN EVILDER! JIM MAJORS WAS NOT IN GOD'S WILL!
3. WE CAN ALSO KNOW THAT IT IS GOD'S WILL FOR US TO WIN SOULS - NO TWO WAYS ABOUT THIS!

II.- WE LIKE PETER NEED TO KNOW THE WILL OF GOD

A.- IF YOU KNEW GOD WANTED YOU TO DO SOMETHING, WOULD YOU DO IT? I THINK SO!

1. If God said for you to go to Central & Indian School -pick up a man- haul him to Glendale-You'd do it
2. If God said- this is a bad day for you -make no important decisions- You'd obey-astrology
3. If God said- Christians are being killed at the Capitol-go be a martyr- you'd go!

B.- BUT THE COMMAND OF GOD IS NOT IN THIS AREA, NOR IN THIS WAY - BUT HE DOES COMMAND

1. Acts 1:8 - be ye witness of me-
2. Mark 16:15- Preach the Gospel to every creature-
3. REMEMBER II Pet 3:9- it is god's will that you bring everyone to salvation you can!

C.-WE DON'T NEED TO SEEK GOD'S WILL - IT HITS US LIKE A TEN TON TRUCK- EVANGELIZE!

1. The only real eternal work is involved in evangelism
2. The only thing we can be really sure of is that God want's souls saved.
3. Are you doing your part? God commanded!

III.- THE QUESTION IS HOW TO DO IT

A.- THE SAMARITAN WOMAN METHOD - NO TRAINING, NO GREAT VERSES - JUST WITNESS John. 4:29

Come see a man that touched me- is not this the Christ?

B.- THE METHOD OF PHILLIP THE DEACON - Acts 8:30 - DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

With the world in its mess today- people are looking for answers-
Offer them Jesus as the Answer to America's need

C.- PETER HAD HIS OWN SPECIAL METHOD COMMANDED OF THE LORD - John 21:15-17 Feed my lambs

I Pet 5:2 he echoes this to all the Shepherds- organize them to grow
As the undershepherd- I want you to help me bring in the little lambs
To send you out in every area- so that they are brought under the sound of Gospel- Will you help?
Help bring people in through "Bring them back alive" trips -  Teens did it - Can adults?
