THE COMMON TRICK OF THE CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY IN THE WORLD IS TO PROMISE LIBERTY & GIVE SLAVERY

I. THE FALSE PROPHETS GIVE FALSE PROMISES II Pet 2:19

A.- IT WOULD SEEM THAT THE FALSE PROPHETS ALL PROMISE FREEDOM & PEACE, BUT LOOK CAREFULLY.

1. We have had one group cry for "free love"; Another for free trips (drugs), free enjoyment-Libs
2. We have Fundamentalists-offering freedom from Liberals-but setting up codes, creeds, M. Don'ts
3. The only place freedom- John 8:32, 36- Truth makes you free; & Jesus is the Truth-

B.- MANY TODAY WHO SEEK TO FREE US FROM OUR BONDAGE, ARE THEMSELVES UNDER TERRIBLE BONDAGE!

1. The "servants of corruption" is expression- free sex, pleasure, drugs- addiction, body, soul, spirit
2. The "Pharisees"- promised freedom from flesh-but made you dependent on their crutch rules!
3. It is only the Lord that can change the heart- truly free love, & infinite pleasure-above law!

C.- A PERSON TALKED INTO SOMETHING IS IN BONDAGE TO THE SUPER SALESMAN, NOT ENJOYING HIS FREE WILL

1. The young person who accepts a gift-(drugs, money,-personal interest) is caught by the hook!
2. Older people are trapped other ways- but if you must depend on another person-you are bound!
3. Rom 6:16- Whomsoever you yield yourselves servants to obey-his slave you are! guard your will!

It is vital that you present yourself to Christ- not to world, flesh, or devil- (Music?)

II.- FALSE PROPHETS LEAD то WORSE SLAVERY! v. 20

A.- THERE IS A DANGER EVEN AFTER A PERSON HAS ESCAPED THE POLLUTIONS OF THE WORLD - 20a

1. This section deals with a person whose life is improved, freed from some of world's corruption
2. The fringe benefits of the true church is in broad Christianity- We have much of it in America
3. Peter warns- I Pet 2:16- Jesus gives freedom-don't use it as cloak of sinfulness-but new life

B.- THE ONLY WAY THERE IS ANY REAL FREEDOM IS THROUGH THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE LORD & SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST

1. The big problem of this passage, like some in Hebrews- is this person saved or not-
2. Heb. 10:26 ff. -A person can be under a great blessing of Christendom & not be born again!
3. But people can be saved- and not accept blessing enough to get free from alcohol-or vices!

C.- BUT IF AFTER BEING MADE FREE THEY ARE ENTANGLED AGAIN, THEIR FATE IS WORSE THAN BEFORE.-20c

1. Matt. 12:45 pictures the man cleansed of a devil-but not spirit filled- so 7 more came in
2. Heb 6:4-6 tells that it is impossible to bring to repentance a person who knows better, but sins
3. Unfortunately today some use the name of Jesus to lead to sin bondage- & self-righteous bondage.

III.- THE BIBLE VERSION OF BETTER DEAD THAN RED!

It is amazing the parallels regarding communistic conspiracy and any other satanic conspiracy

A.- "IT HAD BEEN BETTER FOR THEM NOT TO HAVE KNOWN THE WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS THAN TO TURN FROM IT" 21a

1. Mark 14:21 -The same expression is used here concerning the one who betrayed Jesus- Judas!
2. Peter pictures the modern Judas, who betrays Jesus daily by compromising -back into sin
3. The unsaved alcoholic can get saved- & great power; But what do you do with Christian alcoholic?

B.- THE PROVERB GIVEN HERE IS SICKENING, BUT IT IS IN THE WORD OF GOD, SO DON'T IGNORE IT! 21b

1. The dog empties his stomach of some poison; the pig is cleaned up- maybe with perfume & silk ribbon
2. But they both return-dog to vomit; pig to mire -This shows definite preference in fair choice
3. But what do you expect from dog-pig? Would a person with a changed heart do this? God changes hearts

C.- IN THE LIGHT OF THIS, THE MESSAGE FOR US IS II Pet 3:14 -BE FOUND WITHOUT SPOT!

1. Make sure you are saved! A cleansed life, a changed life, not ever to return to the vomit!
2. After Christ has made you free- do not be ensnared by Pharisees- Gal 5:1 -no more negativism!
3. But your freedom is not liberty to sin Gal. 5:13- With a new heart you won't! But be sure!

Do not allow the devil to trick you into one little step of sin! it leads to others-

KNOWING ALL THESE THINGS, WHAT MANNER OF PERSON OUGHT WE TO BE WITH HOLY LIFE, & GODLINESS-v.11

1. no matter what tricks Satan might try on you, make Christ's blood your claim for freedom
2. Make that same blood your claim for a new walk of life- not in bondage again
3. Baptism plainly cries to the world that you are following Christ because you want to!
