THERE IS NO MORE TERRIBLE PICTURE OF THE SERPENT'S TRAIL ANWHERE ELSE IN THE BIBLE THAN THIS PASSAGE.

1. We read of terrible things that shall happen during The Tribulation-& last days -3:3,II Tim 3
2. But these horrible events surrounded the Christian 1906 years ago- 66 AD, Peter described times
3. And as we live today, we are under the shadow of the same terrorism of sin today- only our fast pace of living keeps us from noticing the wave of terror sweeping down upon us!

The ones described here are number ONE on God's Hit Parade- those who will be hit for their sin

A.- CHIEFLY THEM THAT WALK AFTER THE FLESH V. 10a THE FOLLOWING VERSES INDICT HUMANISM

1. Natural Brute Beasts- V.12 When men leave God out, beasts become more valuable than human
2. They riot in the Day time- v.13 -Streets not safe of night is bad but these aren't safe daytime
3. Riot has slacked- but crime and Terrorism grows- Guerilla War in USA- 16 in '65, but 546 in '70

B.- IN THE LUST OF UNCLEANNESS - v. 10b -NOT EVEN A NORMAL LIST, BUT THIS ONE IS VERY DEFILING!

1. This special type of lust is associated with Sodom- Rom 1:27 no civilized nation should allow it
2. v. 14 speaks of eyes full of Adultery-evil imagination continually- & our eye gate is flooded
3. Tucson is written up as the "Sin Capitol of Arizona" & Churches invaded with Harlots fashions

C.- AND DESPISE GOVERNMENTS v. 10c- THE PEAK OF LAWLESSNESS, AND THIS TOO HAS A SPECIAL MEANING

1. Who were they not afraid -Dignities (The Glorious ones) refer to the occult - Satan's Officers
2. The Angels did not dare to be careless or rash in dealing with these-v.11-How will men fare?
3. There is an Unholy Spirit destroying today- Beware! Witchcraft, demon worship, -

And these libertines of the worst order pose as Godly men as the church gathers-communion- 13

II.- THE MEMORY OF GOD - PUNISHMENT ! II Pet 2:9b

Indeed the Devils believe and Tremble- James 2:19b- But foolish men today mock God, & play with fire

A.- SO THEY ARE RESERVED TO THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT TO BE PUNISHED! v.9b

1. Just as Angels are chained v.4, and will not be forgotten- even so men cannot escape their actions
2. Peter no doubt remembered the words of Jesus- Luke 16:22- Rich man in Hell- torments- & many
3. Punishment, Retribution, Hell- are Biblical terms - God's Justice demands it- cf. 3:7b

B. SOME OF THE PUNISHMENT IS TO BE MADE TO WALLOW IN THEIR OWN CORRUPTION! 12b

1. One proof of Eternal Hell is Today!- Governor Williams said-We harvest natures answer to "Everything Goes"
2. The Pill and Penicillin does not excuse the "Nice Societies" indulgences- Payday is here! Plagues
3. The worst punishment-v.14b to force them to continue the sin-& wear out the kick! sex- dope-

C.- THESE SHALL RECIEVE THE REWARD OF UNRIGHTEOUSNESS! -V.L# 13a THERE IS NO ESCAPE OF THIS PAYDAY

1. Wickedness has its reward- This is an eternal law!  Payment for every sin is assured!
2. Our country is being betrayed today "Better Red than Dead" -Communism destroys its Quislings!
3. It is no secret that Americans who have had so much will probably die of starvation!-

And those who have had so much wealth they could turn to luxurious sins will be mocked by it

III.- THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD - DELIVERANCE II Peter 2:9 a

Peter is so strong against the libertines, but he does not forget the protection of the saint

A.- PETER HEARD JESUS TALK ABOUT HEAVEN AND HELL, AND ABOUT GOD'S ABILITY TO PRESERVE HIS OWN

1. In John 5:29 Jesus told of the final judgement- the Saints to Life, and the lost to Damnation
2. But Peter also remembered John 10:27-29- the Lord KNOWS His sheep! They shall never perish!
3. Make sure you are one of the Lord's and stay out of the Devil's pasture -described Ch. 2

B.- THE LORD KNOWS HOW TO DELIVER THE GODLY FROM TEMPTATION - HE CAN GUIDE YOU TODAY ! v.9

1. God makes a way to escape 1 Cor 10:13- But we must be willing to take it! Are you?
2. No matter how luxurious, it seems we would be fools to sit in temptation- leave it capped-
3. I don't think God would want us to leave it around for our children either- Clean it up!

C.- THE LORD KNOWS HOW TO DELIVER OUR SOULS UP TO HEAVEN TOO! TODAY IS INTERESTING- TOMORROW MORE!

1. I am greatly intrigued by II Pet 1:11- the Abundant entrance into the Kingdom! Welcome Committee!
2. But some in the church during Peter's day showed their true colors- Were not saved-libertines
3. Do you belong to the Lord? If you do you can be sure He will not forsake you now or then!

Make sure of your knowledge of God- and that you listen to God's leadership out of temptation

BUT HOW CAN WE ESCAPE THE CORRUPTION THAT IS IN THE WORLD UNLESS WE CLAIM HIS PROMISES 2 Pet 1:4

1. If you have been playing with any of the toys of the libertines- better claim Blood of Christ
2. If you want to be delivered from the Temptations- walk in God's knowledge- Baptism, Church Membership
3. If we do not attack Satan- & drive back his forces- he will drive us back & claim our children
