1. Terrible words- He forsook Paul in trouble- & forsook God!
2. Why? "Loved this present world"-lacked discipline to be pilgrim
3. Ministers fail-Pride, Money, Women, -Sloth -Gibbs gives 7 Perils

B.- WHAT OF CRESCENS & TITUS- DEPARTED, NOT SENT!

1. No ringing accusation-but they left -not there 4:16 1st charge
2. I would like to think well of all of you- but many will fall!
3. Will you discipline yourself as to not fail?

II.-THE JOY OF FAITHFUL SOLDIERS OF THE CROSS OF CHRIST-

A.- THE MEDIC AND THE MESSENGER - Luke, and Tychicus

1. The beloved physician- the only one left! Stand true- Lk 18:8
2. Tychicus- sent! last time to see Paul- Would you go? Leave love

B.- THE REINFORCEMENTS PAUL ASKED TO COME AND HELP HIM

1. Timothy, Paul's son in the faith- v.13 bring parchments- books- Come before winter- did he make it? Paul died that summer
2. Bring Mark -What joyous words -v.11 -he is profitable! Mark had previously deserted under fire- Acts 13:13, Mrk 14:51
He caused contention- Paul & Barnabas- Acts 15:37-9
But he did not quit- helped Peter in Babylon- I Pet 5:13
Paul wanted him- but he came too late- Paul already dead!
But the failure wrote the Gospel of Mark- 

III.- WE NEED FAITHFUL SOLDIERS TODAY!

A.- WE NEED SOLDIERS WHO WILL TRAIN FAITHFULLY -Feet shod-prep.

1. 1 Cor 4:2 Stewards must be faithful! -Determine God's call
2. Your biggest enemy-Wasted time-Eph 5:16-redeem Time-CHART:
3. Do not allow Satan to snatch your Gift!- Pastor-Missionary

B.- WE NEED SOLDIERS WHO WILL NOT FORGET THEIR BASICS!

1. Jesus must be Lord of all-! Don't miss Him in your bookwork
2. His Church is important-! Baptist Covenant! -Attend - Support!
3. You are not excused from tithing - FINANCIAL RECORDS: Budget

C.-YOU ARE NOW STUDENTS- ACT LIKE IT SO YOU CAN BE PASTORS, TEACHERS
