JAMES PLAINLY DRAWS THE LINE ON THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR SIN, AND THE MATTER IS SETTLED FOREVER!

1.- From Adam till the present time- men have always blamed someone else for sin-environment-Hereditary
2. The source of sin, and the penalty of sin has not changed- savage or senator-all same problem
3. We must be aware of sin- not hide its source or penalty and the wages of sin is always paid.

No pill, psychologist, lawyer, doctor, or concerned parent can annul these wages! 

I.- THE SOURCE OF OF SIN - YOUR OWN LUST! v. 13, 14

The rough Disciples were blunt and forceful- they were rough men-carpenters, fishermen,-

A.- THE TEMPTATION TO SIN COMES FROM OUR OWN LUST, FROM OUR OWN NATURE, OUR OWN FLESH!

1. God is not the author of sin, He never has been, never will be! He may test- He never tempts!
2. We are plainly told here that our own Lust draws us away - Desire to have wrong things!
3. Sin has been explained away as glandular malfunction- desire, alcohol, sex, things, -even death!

B.- OUR OWN DESIRES ACTUALLY BECOME ENTICEMENTS TO SIN, AND RIGHT CLEVER ENTICEMENTS AT THAT!

1. Enticement- lured by bait, something shiny-good to eat, seductive, support pride, give glow
2. Our flesh contains a thousand radio-compasses tuned in to every type of sin just watch boys.
3. The World-flesh-devil all "Turn us on" today- desire is enflamed & we play with it until we fall.

C.- SATAN HAS MANY HELPERS TODAY, BUT WITH ALL THE ADDED LURES, STILL OUR OWN LUST MAKES DECISION

1. Every man- and every age has its special temptations- & I'm sure Satan has an imp for each one
2. But never before Madison Ave, TV,- Playboy make millions tempting you-food, drink, sex-death
3. But still the trifold Temptation-Lust of flesh, eyes, pride of life is all from YOUR OWN SELF and no man, no woman- is exempt from that personal inner devil! - Christians fall today! 

II. THE END RESULT OF SIN - YOUR DEATH! v. 15

The sting of death is sin- & some of us wait around to be stung often- & death is sure, horrible

A.- LUST WHEN IT HAS CONCIEVED BRINGS FORTH SIN - See Milton-Paradise Lost-Book 2, line 755

1. Your mood, attitude, stray thought, day dream unless carefully controlled will plant sin!
2. Your glands-easily stimulated, fun-but agony if unsatisfied, & death if satisfied! Idle hands
3. If you tease yourself-sin or not you are hurt! Young & old- flee youthful temptations!  Old too

B.- SIN WHEN IT IS FINISHED BRINGS FORTH DEATH: 15 b SAINTS HAVE BLESSED DEATH, SINNERS - AGONY!

1. We protect you from seeing its horror-let me tell you of one woman-Alcoholic- now dead!
2. There is a faster way- drugs! danger makes excitement & fun-& death -glue sniffing! 
3. Nothing sweeter than love of a man & woman & nothing more tragic- death-brains on ceiling!

C.- GOD WILL NOT ALWAYS SNATCH YOU OUT OF THE FLAMES - HE WILL CUT YOU OFF - GIVE UP- See Deut 28:15

1. Rom 1:24,6,8 sequence of being given up!  
2. Isa 17:10,11-harvest grief; 59:1, 2-seperated from God; 65:11,12- God called-no answer-Slaughter
3. Prov 29:1 -warned, hardened - suddenly cut off! Prov 1:28 -ye shall call & God not answer!

Remember that Esau sought repentance with tears- & did not find it - Heb 12:17

III. THE ONLY CURE FOR SIN - FLEE TO JESUS CHRIST!

Gen 6:3 God will not always strive with men- the day of wrath and judgement is upon us!

A.- KNOW THAT YOU HAVE A DEEPLY SINFUL NATURE, BE ON GUARD, AND DO NOT GIVE IN TO ITS LUSTS!

1. Civilization, culture, ethics- all help! Law and order can hold off the destroyer,
2. But nothing can repeal the wages of sin - Rom 6:23 -but salvation is through Jesus Christ!
3. If you are not saved your sins have already condemned you to hell! don't make it worse!

B.- KNOW THAT YOUR SURRENDER TO THAT SINFUL NATURE CAN MAKE A HELL OUT OF YOUR LIFE SAVED OR NOT!

1. Surrounded by Christians in the finest age of man- You can turn it into a nightmare-hell!
2. It only takes one rattlesnake in the baby's crib- one moment carelessness- life of regrets
3. When you are warned you get mad at the one that warns you-instead of the rattler

C.- THERE IS A SPECIAL BLESSING TODAY FOR THE MAN, WOMAN, WHO CAN WALK WITH THE LORD - v. 12

1. We cannot escape the World till Jesus comes for us- but we can live above the world's level
2. With the discipline, and Bible based knowledge of a good soldier of Jesus Christ-be strong!
3. But know of assurance- one moment's carelessness can cost you your life, honor, & victory!

When Sampson toyed with deep sin- the greatest tragedy-when Lord departed-he knew it not!

EVERY GOOD AND PERFECT GIFT COMES FROM THE FATHER OF LIGHTS v.17- 21 -RECEIVE THE WORD !

1. Flee to Jesus- and be saved! If you wait- your heart will be hardened, & no chance
2. Flee from every sinful temptation- Fight the devil in your heart- don't help him!
3. Flee to the Lord, stay close to Him,- keep yourself busy doing His word-& devil can't hurt you
