THE QUESTION FOR CENTURIES HAS BEEN, WHAT IS TRUTH?  THE QUESTION IS BEFORE US TODAY!

1. Today's world is very confused- many "truths"- and some say no truth- but lost of death
2. The people then were confused about Jesus- and they are confused today- many churches- worse
3. There must be some way for you to Know if Jesus is from God- and just what is His Doctrine

Jesus sets forth a way for you to know! If you want to know personally, it takes effort!

I.- THE PROBLEM - THE THIRST FOR KNOWLEDGE !

If the people who could see Jesus face to face could not decide how can we hope to?

A.- TODAY'S WORLD IS NO DIFFERENT THAN THE WORLD IN JESUS' TIME - CONFUSED

1. We read in the Bible about the Jews- not able to decide if He was good or evil-
2. The Jews considered only one field of knowledge as worthy - Theology - & Jesus unlearned
3. For each soul- your decision of what is truth weighs in balances your own soul!- care!

B. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE KNOW THE TRUTH - John 14:6 - "I am the way, truth, life"-

1. If we make some mistakes- it is embarrassment - Is it a boy or a girl? -Hair cut fools ya
2. If we make other mistakes- costs us money- Right oil? or how to budget for God-
3. If we make other mistakes- death!- Boy curious about Bridey Murphy- killed himself to see.

C.- TRUTH CANNOT BE DISCOVERED BY TAKING A SURVEY OF PUBLIC OPINION, OR VOTING ON IT.

1. While the people argued about Jesus- some amazed at His knowledge, some against Him-
2. God was judging each one - "As a man thinketh in his heart- so is he!"
3. Today we debate, call in experts, and remain undecided, uncommitted, and unhappy

You had better know one simple truth -"Jesus is God's Son" -than have a thousand doubts

II. THE SOLUTION "IF A MAN WILL DO GOD'S WILL" 7:17 

Truth is not found by looking within, or studying man- but by starting with God-

A.- THE WILL OF GOD IS THAT NONE SHOULD PERISH"

1. God is "not willing" (Boulomenos) desire - intention- God intends & wants you to be saved
2. The only way you can know God's will is to act upon it!- Receive Christ - cross the bridge
3. Do not force God to say to you- John 5:40- "Ye will not come unto me" - sad words for you

B.- GOD'S PERMISSION (PERMISSIVE WILL) IS THAT OF YOUR OBEDIENCE Acts 18:21  "If God Wills"

1. This will (Thelow) -a choice, preference- God permits you either, but prefers obedience
2. You can be Baptized, a Member, Follow in Fellowship, Service, Leadership- Use your gifts
3. Jesus said "If you love Me- ye will keep My commandments (John 14:15)

C.- GOD'S DETERMINATION (DETERMINED WILL) THAT CHRIST WILL BE GLORIFIED IN ALL John 6:38

1. This will (Thelema) -means an eternal, unchanging determination - An eternal law!
2. Nothing is going to change God's Eternal Will- & this involves you in His Security!
3. Will you match God's will- with your own determined will to DO HIS WILL FOR YOUR LIFE? 17

Your only way to know His will is to accept it by faith, and act upon it!

III. THE TRUTH  "HE SHALL KNOW OF THE DOCRTINE" 17

The word Doctrine means "truth". When a person says he does not believe in Doctrine- watch out

A.- OUR CHURCH IS A DOCTRINAL CHURCH, FOUNDDED UPON, AND RETAINING CERTAIN BASIC DOCRTINES

1. Today many try to avoid doctrines- but though we have no creed- we have doctrine-in Constitution.
2. Our Church is Orthodox in Doctrine- believing what other churches should!-
3. Reaching back through the centuries- wherever the Bible is studied basic Doctrine comes out

B.- OUR CHURCH IS A BAPTIST CHURCH, AND THIS GIVES US A LABEL - YOU KNOW OUR STAND!

B-Bible, all sufficient;
A-Assurance;
P-Priesthood of Believer;
T-The NT Church- 
I-Immersion,-not 1st;
S-Separation-from World, & Church & State;
T-The Lord's Supper!

To really feel these, you have to put them into practice.  We take for granted so much

C.- WE BELIEVE IN LIVING THE SEPARATED CHRISTIAN LIFE FROM WORLD, AND UNTO THE LORD

1. Your life will show whether or not you love the Lord- do you serve Him- or pamper self?
2. When you insist on your own will you poison your body, soul, & spirit- Discipline
3. But when you place His will first- you build your strength- and beauty! - choose!

You will never really know what God wants to do with your life unless you surrender all

WILL YOU SEEK WITH YOUR OWN LIFE? CHECK V. 18 - and seek Glory of Jesus Christ

1. Accept the Living Truth Jesus- into your life
2. Accept the Holy Spirit's leadership- he will glorify Christ
3. If you WILL do his Will- you will know
