THE BAPTIST IS ORTHODOX IN HIS FAITH

CRTHODOX - Webster's Collegiate - "Sound in doctrine, holding the Christian faith as formulated in the great Church creeds and confessions."

THEOLOGY - The Doctrine of God

God is Spirit, Infinite and Perfect; the Source, Support and End of all things. The Trinity of God is His tri-personal existence as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. God has the absolute attributes including: Spirituality life and personality; Infinity Self existence, Immutability, and Unity; Perfection - Truth, Love, Holiness. His relative attributes include: Eternity, Immensity, Omnipresence, Omniscience, Omnipotence; and the moral attributes of veracity and faithfulness; mercy and goodness, justice and righteousness.

CHRISTOLOGY - The Doctrine of Jesus Christ

God the Son, the only begotten of the Father, His pre-existence, virgin birth, incarnation, impeccability, miracles, substitutionary and atoning death on Calvary, bodily resurrection, present intercessory work, imminent return for the rapture, and second coming as King.

PNEUMATOLOGY - The Doctrine of the Holy Spirit

God the Holy Spirit, working in bringing about the New Birth, reveals the truth, seals believers, intercedes for the believer and bears witness to the believer; restrains the world; indwells, fills, baptizes the believer, calls to service, and is the Author of the Scriptures.

ANTHROPOLOGY - The Doctrine of Man

Man is the special creation of God, created in God's image, without original sin, but fell when he disobeyed God.

HAMARTIOLOGY - The Doctrine of Sin

Sin is disobedience to what God has said, and is in opposition to God's Holiness, Righteousness, and Justice. Sin distorts the image of God in man.

SOTERIOLOGY - The Doctrine of Salvation

Salvation includes Repentance, Faith, Regeneration, Justification, Adoption, Predestination, Election, Sanctification, and Prayer. Man is saved from the penalty, power and presence of sin, by personal acceptance of the blood of Christ to atone for sin.

ECCLESIOLOGY - The Doctrine of the Church

There is a Church Universal, and a Church local. The local Church is a body of baptized believers practicing the great commission. It is called the Body of Christ, the Temple of God, and the Bride of Christ. The ordinances are Baptism and the Lord's Supper.

ANGELOLOGY - The Doctrine of Angels, and

DEMONOLOGY - The Doctrine of Demons and Satan

There are good angels - Archangels, ministering spirits, Seraphims and Cherubims.
There are bad angels - Demons, and Satan, called the devil.

ESCHATOLOGY - The Doctrine of Last Things

This includes the second Coming of Christ, in two aspects - the Rapture, and after the great tribulation the Revelation of Christ as King. Also included is the Resurrection of the Dead (2 phases) the Judgments (7 in all) the final destiny of the righteous and the wicked.

BIBLIOLOGY - The Doctrine of the Bible

The Bible is the Word of God. It is plenarily and verbally inspired and it is our only all-sufficient rule of faith and practice.
